Nadawit ang aktor at congressman na si Arjo Atayde sa flood control issue matapos sinama ang kanyang pangalan ng mag-asawang Discaya.
Ngayong araw, inilabas na ng contractor na si Pacifico ‘Curlee’ Discaya II sa kanyang testimonya ang pangalan ng mga congressmen at mga opisyal ng DPWH na sangkot diumano sa flood control projects corruption.
Ayon kay Curlee, ang mga pangalan na kanyang inilabas ay ang mga taong may ‘kickback’ o may kinuhang pera sa kanilang kompanya matapos nilang manalo sa bidding ng mga proyekto ng pamahalaan.
Ayon kay Curlee : “We had no choice because if we didn’t cooperate, they would create problems for the project awarded to us through mutual termination or right-of-way issues, both of which would prevent the project from being implemented,
“After we won the bidding, some DPWH officials approached us to ask for and take their share of the project amount,
“We are humbly asking the Senate blue ribbon committee and President Bongbong Marcos for the protection and security of our family,” dagdag ni Mr. Discaya.
Kasama nga sa listahan na ito si Juan Carlos “Arjo” Campo Atayde o mas kilalang Arjo Atayde, si Arjo ang Quezon City 1st district representative simula noong 2022.
Matapos inilabas ang listahan, agad na pinabulaanan ni Arjo na hindi totoong nakatanggap siya ng pera mula sa mga Discaya, at kahit kailan umano ay wala siyang naging transaksyon sa mga ito.
Ani Arjo : “I categorically deny the allegation that I benefited from any contractor. I have never dealt with them. Hindi po totoo ang mga akusasyon na ito, I have never used my position for personal gain, and I never will. I will avail of all remedies under the law to clear my name and hold accountable those who spread these falsehoods,”
